As amazed as I was when I discovered TTATT, I am more of the thought, "Why not the rest of them?
Man, these are some really good thoughts. It really helps, Thanks!
do you ever wonder why out of all the witnesses, you are the one that woke up?
i wonder many times why me.
i know many men and women that are much, much better persons than me; either they are much smarter, more humble, kinder, more successful, or just better persons all around.

Diogenesister
I sometimes think they are just too good to SEE the bad in others, it just doesn"t exist in their 'world' of thought.
That makes absolutely perfect sense D. They have the highest hope for everyone, even the bad.

Sabin those are all good points. I makes me feel not so all alone.
I want to thank everyone else for their comments.

My mom for example is the greatest woman I have ever met. That lady has only a 1st grade education, is 90 percent deaf, and when I was born, my father left us and she raised me all by herself. She always put me first in her life. I will never be that good of a person.
I’ve seen brothers that were truly caring and self-sacrificing die of old age and never waking up they were misled. I’ve seen the kindest grand moms get cancer and die a slow death totally unaware they were in a cult.
Then I see myself, I don’t even come close to some of these people.
So why did I wake up?
This is what makes it hard for me to believe that God is a good person. If anyone deserves to wake up and escape the cult, it’s all these other people that are better than me. They deserve to enjoy their life free from guilt and fear.
Because I see this, sometimes I question myself if perhaps I’m wrong. But then I reflect on the abuses of the organization and I’m back to square one.
If there was a God that cared, he would pull out these good people out of the cult first. The Bible says;
“Jehovah knows how to deliver righteous people”
But that’s not the case is it?

The governing body wants to thank everyone here on JW.com for all the ideas. The winner of the best idea will get one year of free Watchtower and Awake magazines autograph by one of the GB members.
i can imagine those of you who have a spouse that is not awake and how hard it must be.
i have a 90 year old mom who is a jw and still puts in 12 hrs a month in field service.
the brothers and sisters are always picking her up for conventions, meetings and memorials and as much as i try to avoid them, there are times when i just cant.

Today among the group that brought her home were two elders who used to go to my old hall. They knew I was waiting for my mom. So after my mom went inside they asked if they could talk to me outside. They start asking me what they can do to help me. You all know the lines. “If you committed a sin brother, Jehovah is very forgiving” We would be more than happy to hear you and help you back to spiritual health.
Yea right.(I didn't say that out-loud)
But I can’t
blame them because I did the same thing when I was and elder.I always assumed that when a person stopped coming to the meetings, it was because he/she committed fornication.
So I decided to stump them.
I asked them, If you can answer one question for me from the Bible, I promise I will start tomorrow going to all the meetings.
They said, “Brother, Ask”
I said, “Where in the Bible does it say it’s ok to have Blood Fractions?
You should of seen their eyes!
The other younger brother said, “That’s actually a good question, I never thought of that”
The older elder turned around and gave the younger elder a nasty stare.
The oldest one said, “It’s a conscience matter”
I said, “In the Book of Acts the brothers there made a decision, they said NO BLOOD-period. It does not say “Except BLOOD FRACTIONS is a conscience matter.”
The older Elder started saying, “There’s an article that I can bring you” I interrupted him and said, “I want to see in the Bible where it says BLOOD FRACTIONS are a conscience matter.
The older brother said, “I don’t think the Bible says BLOOD FRACTIONS are a conscience matter.
I said, Thank you brothers for bringing my mom home, that was kind of you and we both appreciate it. You guys have a great evening.
I shook their hands and walked inside the house.
I peeked through the curtains and just saw them get inside their car and drive away. It was kind of eerie, reminded me of when I did shepherding calls.
so we have the english convention this week.
a bunch of families whom i know but have not seen in a few years are attending.
they are not assigned but got a group together to visit the city and attend a day or two of the convention.

I would love to see what the statistics are age-wise considering how many older people drop out vs the younger generations.
That's an excellent idea. But complying it would be a difficult task.

So we have the English convention this week. A bunch of families whom I know but have not seen in a few years are attending. They are not assigned but got a group together to visit the city and attend a day or two of the convention. We had a get together last night. I shaved my beard to avoid any confrontation. I have to admit I miss a lot of the friends. I had a lot of fun with many of them when I was gun-ho in the organization. We did a lot of things together like camping, Disney world, Travel together.
But how times have changed.
Many of them have already lost their husbands or wives to death. Most of these JWs were elders and MS when I was just a kid coming in. The Single wives and husbands talked a lot about the paradise just around the corner and how happy they will be to see their mates and be with them forever and this time not be interrupted by death.
I was not about to try to wake anyone up and burst their bubble, but I did want to know if anyone knew about the Royal Commission, so I discreetly ask around. There was about 50-60 people there.
Not one of them knew what was going on with the Royal Commission. In fact many have never heard of any child abuse news. Many have never even seen the Dateline stories a few years ago. Many said they hardly watch the news and only get their information from the Magazines.
I don’t think there was anyone there under 50 years of age.
this topic may have been an op previously but i didn't get an opportunity to comment so here goes;.
mine are pretty simple;.
it was the day i married my beautiful wife of 49 years.
Wow STA, you got my respect. You just gave me the courage that I needed today. I've been feeling so down but the fact that you survived what you say you did gives me strength that I can overcome anything.
Thanks.
if donald trump wins the presidency, about 90% of the jws in my area will have to go back to mexico.
the watchtower will be having a fire sale on kingdom halls.
if trump became president and he followed through on his policy of sending back undocumented immigrants, would that affect the jws publisher numbers big time in the united states?

Surely this man would not do "good" in terms of his extreme views and his blatant bias.
I know it sounds crazy that Trump could win, but the probability is there. Didn't Al Gore win the popular vote with the majority but lost the electoral college thereby losing the presidency to Bush?
